As you may know, All Our Kin is celebrating a huge milestone - our 25th anniversary year! That's a quarter of a century of championing family child care, and we're so excited to mark this occasion by unveiling a fresh, updated look.
From the beginning, our lovingly hand-drawn flower has held much symbolism as All Our Kin’s logo. The roots represent community and our steadfast commitment to early childhood educators and families, while the plant symbolizes growth and the promise of a bright future. It's been a powerful image for us and that isn’t changing.
But as we approach our next quarter century of training, supporting, and sustaining home-based child care, we have a bold vision: We plan to bring our personalized, relationship-based model of creating staffed family child care networks across the continental U.S., even as we deepen and increase our direct service work in New York and Connecticut.
And as All Our Kin continues to evolve, so must our visual identity.
When our original logo was created, smartphones were the technology of the future, social media didn't exist, and there simply wasn’t as much noise. In today’s digital world, strong visual recognition is more important than ever.
Boosting our visibility means boosting the recognition of family child care educators who deserve to be seen and heard. But the decision to update wasn’t just about keeping up with the times.
Driven by feedback from our staff, partners, and educators, our new visual identity reflects the strength and vision of these essential community members and the heart behind our work.
With Talooka Studio's creative vision, we’ve reimagined our iconic flower with a clean and evocative design that stands out in digital and physical spaces, incorporates human elements, and speaks to innovation, even as we lean into the idea of growth.
Our new icon includes unique lines contained in a circular shape, symbolizing inclusiveness. The gradient color gives a feeling of upward motion, reflecting growth and development.
The negative space running vertically in the center subtly suggests a body, and the upper leaves can be seen as arms, or even books, symbolic of learning and support.
The three flowers have been recast, intentionally having multiple interpretations – leaves, flames (representing passion and energy), or even the heads of an adult and two children.
In addition to our logo, we’ve also expanded our color palette. Our familiar green is still front and center but we’ve also added peacock as a bold new primary color, as well as secondary and tertiary colors like navy and plum. Accent colors of yellow and orange round everything out and bring attention to important highlights.
We're thrilled with this look and hope you love it as much as we do. We believe it’s a reflection of our commitment to the future of family child care that stays true to our roots. We can’t wait to continue working alongside all of you in 2025 and beyond!
