Workshops

Language Justice

All Our Kin recognizes that educators learn best when they are able to participate in the language in which they feel most comfortable. We provide high quality workshops in English and Spanish as well as bilingual workshops with either consecutive or simultaneous interpretation, in accordance with the needs and structure of each unique workshop. We are committed to creating dynamic and multilingual learning environments where educators can connect and learn across differences of language, cultural, race, ethnicity and immigration experience.

Virtual Learning

During the COVID pandemic, All Our Kin began offering virtual learning opportunities hosted on Zoom. We have applied all of our best practices from in-person workshops to our virtual sessions, while also incorporating current standards that make virtual workshops successful. While virtual learning doesn’t work for all of our educators, it has allowed the development of cross-community relationships and made participation easier for some, especially those for whom traveling to our offices is a hardship.

There are three design principles that constitute our virtual learning:

Integrating adult learning theory principles, mixing live-learning experiences with pre and post learning activities, and opportunities for team-based learning.
