In response to President Biden’s announcement of a social spending framework today, Jessica Sager, co-founder and CEO of All Our Kin, a national nonprofit organization that trains, supports, and sustains family child care educators, released the following statement. Sager and family child care educators are available for interviews.

“We applaud President Biden for committing to families across our country. Investing in all child care options -- including family child care -- will increase equitable access to high-quality child care and early learning, empower parents to enter and stay in the workforce and help children succeed in school and beyond. After decades of invisibility, this legislation stands to finally invest in family child care providers as skilled educators, compassionate caregivers and small business owners who contribute to our communities.

“We urge members of Congress to adopt the President’s framework that centers the needs of families and children and invests in this essential piece of human infrastructure.”
