NAFCC Accreditation Support

NAFCC Accreditation Support

Are you a licensed family child care educator ready to pursue NAFCC accreditation? All Our Kin offers comprehensive support for family child care educators looking to strengthen their program and achieve national recognition through the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).

Our Accreditation Support offering combines individualized coaching, a collaborative learning community, and our five-part professional learning series, Pathways to Quality, all grounded in the National Association for Family Child Care Accreditation framework.

Why NAFCC Accreditation Matters

NAFCC Accreditation is a sign of excellence for family child care educators, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality care that goes beyond standard licensing. This process not only deepens professional practice and aligns programs with nationally respected standards, but it also provides significant benefits like enhanced credibility with families and, in many states, access to increased financial resources through higher ratings in Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS).

With this achievement, educators gain national recognition, foster continuous growth, and contribute to elevating the entire family child care profession.

In summary, NAFCC accreditation is a way for family child care educators to:

  • Demonstrate their commitment to delivering high-quality care
  • Deepen professional practice and align providers with nationally respected standards that support their long-term growth.
  • Potentially earn more. Some nationally accredited programs in states like Connecticut and New York are eligible to receive child care subsidies through higher ratings within the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)

This five-part professional series, grounded in the NAFCC Accreditation framework, supports home-based providers in strengthening their programs and aligning with NAFCC standards, centered around these five core areas:

  • Relationships: Foster strong, trusting bonds with children, families, and their communities.
  • Learning Environments: Creating culturally responsive and engaging spaces that support development.
  • Health & Safety Practices: Build safe, healthy routines with strategies in hygiene, nutrition, and emergency prep.
  • Developmentally Appropriate Activities: Turn everyday moments into learning experiences that support children’s cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional development.
  • Outdoor Learning Experiences: Use outdoor play to support physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Upon completion of the program, educators will earn 12.5 professional development hours that can contribute toward NAFCC’s accreditation requirements.
