Running a successful family child care program takes love and dedication – and also requires strong business skills, smart planning and the right support. All Our Kin’s free, bilingual Business Support Team equips home-based educators with the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to thrive as business owners. 

Business Support Offerings

Through interactive workshops, personalized coaching and practical resources, educators gain the knowledge they need to grow their home-based businesses and build long-term financial security. 

Business Support is available to educators who
 are licensed or in the process of becoming licensed family child care providers in Connecticut and New York. Substitutes and assistants may also be eligible.

Business Series

All Our Kin’s proprietary Business Series is a nationally-recognized 10-part series of interactive workshops designed specifically for family child care educators. The series covers essential topics such as budgeting, marketing, business planning, record-keeping and long-term sustainability.

Participants gain tools and strategies to strengthen and grow their businesses. Through relevant coaching, culturally responsive support and a collaborative learning environment, educators also build lasting connections with peers in the field.

Educators who complete the full series receive over 30 professional development hours.

According to the latest Child Trends report educators who participated in the Business Series reported feeling better prepared to handle the challenges of running an FCC business and experienced increased connection with their peers.

Individual Coaching

Our one-on-one coaching is tailored specifically for family child care educators and led by experienced coaches who understand the unique needs and opportunities in your field.

Through collaborative goal-setting, strategic planning, and hands-on guidance, coaching sessions help you apply what you’ve learned in our 10-week Business Series to real-life situations. Topics include contracts, marketing, policies, financial planning, and more.

Note: Individual coaching is available to educators who have completed our Business Series.

Accounting Workshop Series

Our three-part workshop is designed to help educators confidently manage their finances using All Our Kin’s Accounting System. 

This digital tool can summarize business income and expenses, track monthly profits, organize records for tax purposes and create and monitor budgets.
